Welcome to Hagerty Huskies Pop Warner Cheerleading

If you are zoned for the Hagerty High School area, we invite you to join our award winning cheerleading teams. Pop Warner is the largest youth football and cheerleading organization in the United States and is the only national youth sports program to require satisfactory academic progress to participate. Our mission for the upcoming season is to promote safety, leadership, responsibility and fun while providing an environment in which the cheerleading athlete is both academically and physically fit.

We have six squads for children in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Each squad consists of up to 35 cheer members and will be divided by age and grade level. Each season may be different based on enrollment and team sizes.

Our practices begin on August 1st in which teams will practice up to 10 hours a week. After Labor Day the practices will decrease to 6 hours a week and practice days and times will be at the discretion of the association. Tiny Mites and Mitey Mites end their season at the beginning of November with the TM/M Exhibition; while competition teams cheer through the second week in December after qualifying for National Competition.

Practice Information:

• Practice location – Hagerty High School practice field. After week 2, competitive teams will split off where 2 will be practicing at a different location to increase mat time for each squad.
• Practice time – 5:45 to 8:15 Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday for the month of August, After LABOR DAY – we practice 5:45 to 8:00 Mon, Tues and Thurs with Wednesdays & Fridays reserved for rain-outs
• Practice Attire – must be shorts and t shirt- NO spaghetti string tops or mid-drifts.
• NO EARRINGS, RINGS, JEWELRY OF ANY KIND AT PRACTICE OR GAMES.
• NO FINGERNAIL POLISH AT PRACTICE OR GAMES
• Must bring water bottle to practice filled with water
• Sneakers must be worn – ABSOLUTELY NO FLIP FLOPS
• Hair must be pulled back in pony tail

Our focus for the upcoming season will be on fun and physical fitness while maintaining a strong emphasis on scholastics. The season begins with cheering for our respective football teams. Games are held on Saturdays and will require local travel. As we move into September, we will begin to work on competition preparation where the focus is on tumbling, stunting and dance. Our teams will compete in the Mid Florida Cheer Competition held at the end of October. Teams placing 1st and 2nd will then advance to Regionals which is held during the Thanksgiving weekend. Any advancing teams ( placing 1st or 2nd) will compete at Nationals which is held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in December. Each Cheer Family will receive a Parent/Cheerleader Handbook at registration which will contain more detailed information and expectations for the Season.
